Rough draft: Speech = 60%; Sense of Place A Passage to India (3,000 word - almost mini dissertation) = 63% !!! At rough draft!!! Woooo Hoooo!! Commentary on essay - word Count 554 - I have to follow a framework for analysis, which includes: an overview; the structure (layout, narrative, paragraph structure etc.); grammar, lexical sets and phonology. 'Tis done - all 906 words of it, not without a bit of juggling and a bit of editing (paring back on some and expanding on others).  It is now as good as it is going to get sans academic eyes giving it the once over.  I have to pull another 700 words out of the air to say why and how I did it.  Good question - because some urban art can be ( Read more... )

We had to stage a debate this morning - All literature should have a political basis. Interesting. I had to be on the opposing team and trying to prove that there shouldn't be politics in all literature - however, most of the Sci-Fi/Fantasy novels have some kind of feudal system and any trashy novel has some form of sexual politics, so more ( Read more... )

Have got 69% in my children's book/commentary!  Am over the moon - just a nip/tuck and the mark will be way in the 70s.
